The modernization of electronic music has encouraged more and more aspiring DJs to come out, and Dieselboy has also been busy giving them a home for their music. Besides deejaying and producing, he has been busy running multiple labels that help new artists get started. “I don’t run my labels to make money, I do them because as an artist myself, it feels good to have another creative outlet to express a viewpoint and an aesthetic,” he said.
Diselboy is excited to return to Taipei next week to show how nearly two decades of hard work and dedication have rubbed off on him.
“After so many years of deejaying live, I have created a strong skill set so when I get up there to do work, I like to truly ‘do work’ and challenge myself, sweat a little bit and live in the moment with the crowd,” said Dieselboy of his performance style. “I don’t worry about making mistakes because mistakes happen and that is life. I would rather just vibe off of the crowd and run with it.”
“All I can say is that when I come to Taipei, you will hear a lot of fast and layered mixing and lots of high intensity music. I won’t go easy on you ... but I think you’ll like it.”
Dieselboy, with opening acts DJ Mykal (林哲儀), DJ dINO and Mad Brain, performs on Thursday at Spark, B1, 45 Shifu Rd, Taipei City (台北市市府路45號B1).
